SUMMER THORNTON DESIGN CHICAGO OFFICE

Located in the heart of Lincoln Park, this 1877 Victorian home is the office of Summer Thornton Design. MVA provided full architectural services for the gut-renovation of this structure including exterior restoration, full window replacement, and renovation of the interior including structural, mechanical, and electrical upgrades. We coordinated with Summer Thornton Design to incorporate the interior finishes into the construction drawings. The building is located within the Sheffield Historic District which is part of the National Register of Historic Places. It is designated 'Orange' by Chicago Landmarks noting its historical significance within the Armitage-Halsted Historic District. We navigated the historical reviews and permit process including separate permits for exterior restoration, windows, and interior work.
